Royal Shakespeare Company Competition

Nothing is worse than missing an opportunity that could have changed your life” – Unknown

A big part of creative futures is furthering ones career opportunities therefore I took it upon myself to enter a competition that matches my ambition in the photography world.

IMG_4585The Royal Shakespeare Company were holding a competition for the next generation of theatre photographers. To simply enter all I had to do was upload my own image taken from a rehearsal onto Instagram, tag @TheRSCKey, use the hashtag #RSCPhotoComp and become a member to the company. Fortunately I got a long listed in the competition and had to given personal and availability details to the company as the prizes was to take the rehearsal photos for Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet, The Merry Wives of Windsor and Hamlet in the 2018 shows. However I was unlucky this time and did not go any further. Although I was unsuccessful this was a fabulous competition to enter simply because it would have been a perfect start to taking pictures in the theatre professionally. It was a very easy competition to enter especially because of the support of the theatre department in Glyndwr university for allowing me to take images of their upcoming shows. I had the right images it was simply just chasing the right one. I look forward to finding more competitions like this one.
